Effect of nutritional factors on urinary calcium excretion in a sample of Moroccan children and adolescents

In addition to age, gender, body weight, hormonal status as well certain physiological and pathological states, other factors exert considerable effects on calcium (Ca) retention therefore its urinary excretion. Among these factors, many dietary nutrients have all been discussed affecting Ca through different studies. Thus, our study aims evaluate the impact of various nutritional excretion among a sample Moroccan children adolescents aged from 6 18 years old. A total 133 between were involved in this study. Participants required public private schools Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region. For each participant, anthropometry data, food record 24-h urine samples collected. Urinary was estimated using ICP-mass spectrometry. The average 73.58±37.13 mg/day. had no significant association ( p >0.05) with studied r =-0.082, =0.118, =-0.025, =0.142, =0.084, =0.119 for Ca, proteins, vitamin D, sodium, phosphorus magnesium intakes respectively).The current evaluation suggests that requirement may be not influenced by intake but it is highly recommended researchers carry out more studies define cause deficiency adolescents.
